surveillance camera are allowed BUT with sound is illegal in Canada and I never understood why, may someone fill me in. I don’t understand what the big deal is, if your having a chat or what not were a camera can see you then its your own fault, want a private chat, do it at home.

Actions have consequences you are wrong, go tot he library and pick up a law book.
Because one may not be aware there is a camera, and there is a resonable expectation of privacy in the law. Although this gets trampled on in on a daily basis in Canada.
