CCD (Charge Couple Device) is the heart of a CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) Camera. its the processor that converts light patterns in to electronic signals that shall be interpreted as images on TV monitor. The CCTV can contain chips made of CMOS, CCD, HAD and various other types. CMOS is widely used in cell phone cameras and cheap in price and performance. On the other hand CCD aided cameras are better than CMOS aided cameras. You can buy both of them that fits your budget. If I were you… I would rather go for CCD based camera than CMOS based camera
