Trouble connecting remotely to my CCTV video surveillance system?

I have a zmodo 500 gb 8 channel video surveillance system. I can view it from my iPhone via an app when I’m in the same wifi network that the video system is in. But once I leave the network it losses connection to the video feeds. Not sure what I’m doing wrong

your DVR network setup hasn’t been completed. you most likely need to do port forwarding from your router. Find out which ports your DVR uses and then call your internet service provider to have them help you open up the ports. Once the ports are open, you should be able to view remotely.

You should call zmodo and have them help you. If they don’t, I would return the whole thing and order a kit from www.cctvdirectbuy.com. They have excellent customer service and tech support.
