Legality of a Surveillance camera in Ohio?

Lately our neighborhood has been getting hit with car thefts, break-ins, vandalism. My street being one of them. I was wondering if it was illegal to get one or two a surveillance cameras pointing at where we park our cars in the street. Or if anyone can tell where to look or call for more info, thanks. Also what would be a good camera to do this?

No it is not illegal. Someone out in public has no expectations of privacy. Just be sure the camera is not aimed at someones home windows.
