I’ve bought a fake security camera that has a red light flashing inside the lense. And my question is this?

Do real security cameras have a red light continually flashing?

Del Boy,
Those cameras are sold at so many place that a thief would know the difference. Even someone who is not a thief could probably tell. I could and I am not that familiar with security cameras.
I bought one and the first night I put it up someone ripped it right down and left it sitting by my front door so it didn’t fool anybody much. Mine even moved when the person moved and they still ripped it down!

Most crooks will cut your phone lines if they are any good at breaking in so all you have done with a camera that they can see if tell them to be careful. Blinking ones just tell them, hey, be careful… Hide the cameras and use high definitions ones so there is no doubt as to who is who in the picture. Then place them where the can be recorded both inside and outside your home. Entries while you are home can be handled by you with your 45 or 12 ga shotgun. You do have them, right? Hide the recorder so they can’t find it. Your insurance covers what you lose and the police can use the pictures to arrest the crooks AND convict them. If you have a big home and a detection system that calls the police the crooks will just keep setting it off until the cops stopped coming. Not too long ago a family went on vacation and that happened to them. The cops would not break into their house to reset the system so they were forced to fly back home to turn it off. Guess what happens the next time they went somewhere…… the cops didn’t show up and they got cleaned out…..

If you want to fix a security camera, then i suggest you not to fix or buy the cheaper one which is easily available in the market. These days most of the camera have red light flashing but if you use those camera, other can easily detect that you have insert a security camera.
