Would an average CCTV system keep footage for over two months?

So I stole from work (silly i know) just wondering once the manager finds out what i stole is gone will they able to watch over two months of footage to find me stealing it.

n.b The manager will know its gone because we are doing stock check tomorrow

Depends on the company. I’m betting no, because shooting video (even VGA quality) for say, 12 hours a day for 2 months would take up a huge amount of storage.

I am confused, I’ve been comparing a lot of security camera systems on different websites and biggest difference I see is in price. 8 camera system from $700 to $5000, 16 camera from $1300 to $10,000 and they all do same things according to description. Anyone ran into this?

I’m professional cctv installer. Some websites are just trying to rip you off saying they have best stuff and they are using their own model number, so you can’t find it anywhere else online. Here is some good reading about it, pretty good cctv tutorial for first time buyers

Government of pakistan has ordered all the GAS and petrol pumps to implement CCTV cameras system to stop crime. Is it possible CCTV systems can stop a crime which is about to happen.

In our industrial complex we have 3 plants and in one of the plants we are producing cell phones so we are deciding to separate the CCTV system from the central monitors area just to have one area dedicated to this plant. Can you tell me what could be the consequences of having this system separate? also tell me the benefits. I need to expose that in a meeting to take final decision.

but the only thing is , the only spare inputs i have left on it are hdmi.anyone got any ideas if they can be used?

you could try using a multi scart but you will need another dvd player or better yet a video recorder from your cctv to multi scart and then all your scarts go into the multi and the main scart to the tv

Hi All;

I was looking to purchase a Home CCTV system to protect my house, and I had some peculiar requirements; such as:

- Access my CCTV Cameras from the Internet (web)
- Images are recorded remotely and not at my house (preventing the recorder being taken away in case of a robbery)
- Some kind of messaging alert.

I found this website: www.kaduco.com, and they tick all the boxes and they even have a “how it works” document, and seems to be alright, but are there any other systems like this one around, pls?

Do you think this is a good purchase?

They sell faurlky low end pridcuts.

There is absolutely no point in getting an IP camera unless you are getting a 3MP one (which is useless for remote viewing)

hi I would like to know how to set up a home cctv system. I have a micromark multi camera controller system. Modem number MM23190
Now, I have 2 cameras plugged in and I have a small tv, where I can watch the video coverage of what my cameras retrieve, however, what I would like to do, is to be able to record, nd playback anything that my cameras retrieve, for evidence purposes.

You have chosen the wrong equipment for this, it is very poor quality and does not provide common interfaces. The only option is to connect it to a standard Video recorder. It is not going to give enough quality for evidence in court.

If i put up an infrared CCTV system, can people outside see either a light beam, or the LED’s? If for example, i wanted to put night vision CCTV inside, would i be able to see the red LED’s glowing? as i have seen night vision CCTV with red LED’s around the lens.

You will see the red LED glowing when you look at it directly by the camera and you have to be pretty close to see it. Infrared light itself is not visible to naked eye and is only used to increase in-the-dark visibility without using visible light source. People will not see the light beam but may see the LEDs if they get close enough.
