Can I run a cctv security camera on a tivo or dish dvr without service or do I need a standalone?
I want to buy a 24 ir 420 tv lines security camera but I need to know what kind of dvr I can run it on and if I buy a tivo, directtv, or dish network dvr will I need to purchase one of their satellite plans to use it?

Do you have a spare hard drive? I would go and buy one to test the theory.
I will guess on the hard drive being the problem. It may be a chip problem controlling the hard drive. Swapping the hard drive would be the only way to determine where the failure is.

Computer based dvr for cctv, I have 16 cameras displayed. Why would only 3 cameras be jumpy?

The signal has to be compatible with the rf standard for them So they all use the same. It is actually the same signal as scart video in on a tV.

Does anyone know how you would connect a wireless cctv system to a dvr? I’m unsure how you could connect the receiver to the dvr.
Most wireless CCTV use RCA (Phono) connectors for composit video.
